I just picked up a 60x70 Micro fiber throw. It's 100% polyester. Does anyone know if they shrink much. Thinking of using it as a backing material. Got it for $2.50.
    Gotta love the price.

Find out easily..wash and dry it two or three times. Then you can pretty well figure it won't shrink much more. For that price you can make a real nice, warm whatever with it.

Generally speaking, poly doesn't shrink. But I'd wash and dry it once or twice and it should be good to go!

I agree with the above - For that price, you can make a real nice, warm, whatever with it! It's a great size for a couch throw.

    Poly shouldn't shrink.

But some of it does. I know.

Measure the piece before and after washing - then you'll know for sure if it was worth the effort.

I would prewash it too... it could prevent an unwanted surprise down the road :D:D:D

I've had a problem with microfiber throws shedding like crazy. When they are washed, the fibers stick to everything. My purple one is in hiding - only comes out when a certain grandson is here. The pastel ones are rolled up for dog pillows and are washed with nothing except each other. One is an inexpensive one and one a better one. It didn't seem to make any difference.

    I'll take fleece.
