I am working on a quilt for some friends of mine that have finally won the right to wed.

They requested a rainbow quilt, but other than that, its really up to me.

Any idea on a pattern that will look good with bright rainbow colors?

That's great. I made two, with the HRC Equality symbol, that were auctioned off at two of the Annual HRC dinners in Atlanta. I'm not suggesting this, but am glad we get to make these kinds. I like the idea of the rainbow colors.

Hmmmm....that's a good one. What is their background? Like, where are they from? How did they meet?

(DH works w/a gal that is wedding her partner soon. We're "in the south" so....let's just say it's the talk of the office. I'm like....let's get 'em a congratulations card!)

I was thinking a Trip Around the World. :)

I love the idea of a DWR though - but they're so time consuming

Oh how wonderful! I agree, a DWR would be just perfect.

I'm piecing one for my sister now and I know it's a labor of love, and then some, but it'll be worth it at the end. I think, though, that there are applique methods you might look up if you aren't into piecing curves?

I was thinking of a bargello pattern that may look similar to a rainbow in rainbow colors.

I'm sure whatever you make will be the best quilt for them
