Default Which White?

This is my latest thrift shop find. They tried to tell me "All it needs is a new belt!" but it needs a lot more than that, so I got it for $40. Anybody got a clue which White this is, in general? Or where to look for a serial number-I can't seem to find one, but it's got to have one somewhere, right?

The shiny tape on top is holding the part that broke off the front, top right slot. t turns, but is binding somewhere, because the handwheel won't turn all the way over. There's a very rusty bobbin in the case, and the wiring is frightening. Oh-and it needs a new belt.

Meet my new project:

and you paid $40 for it?
will they take it back?
serial # should be on the bottom of the machine- model # should be somewhere visable
maybe contact White company and ask them about it.

Yeah, it was worth it for the tinkering experience. Eventually, it'll be a good machine, and I'll have learned a lot in the process.

Hmm. Maybe I need to clean some more grime off and look for numbers again. I didn't know the model number would be on it!

It's a White 2134, according to the tag...which was inexplicably taped to the inside of the top cover. Upon further investigation, it looks as though the binding is actually a severe lack of oil. A good thorough going over--and a list of things to do--will be tonight's project.

You've got a great attitude about your purchase. My mother had an old white that wouldn't quit! I'm sure with some loving care you will have a winner!
