I picked up a Singer in a cabinet for $5.00 yesterday. It is an 'Edison' DA 96054. Anyone know anything about this one? Sorry no pic. available yet. Also, when I plug her in, she starts to sew. Is there an On/Off switch somewhere that I just can't see or find? Please help. Thanks

Lucky you!! I don't have the answer but give this board a few minutes and you'll probably be able to write the manual for it.

If it is a machine that has a separate plug for the light, it is possible the machine is plugged into the receptacle for the light, in which case, it will sew straight away.

So glad I could help. I have a machine like that, and one day I purposely plugged it in the wrong way to see what would happen. So now I know.

Thanks for the info. I tried that and then realized that it is an Edison. Did more research and found it to be a very common machine, but it's mine and she's beautiful or should I say he is handsome. lol
