Default minky for backing of baby quilt...

I finished the quilting on the baby quilt that I am making with a pieced cotton top and Minky for the backing. This is the first time I am using Minky for the back of a quilt and it was not to bad quilting, I just did a stippling all over, what I did learn is that you have to do real big stippling or it gets kind of stiff... It was a little hard to push around under the needle but I got it done...

The question is what would use to bind the quilt, would you use cotton or the minky....I never used minky for a binding...dont know if you have to fold it over like cotton or just sew it on and cut it off like polor fleece..

    thanks for any advice..

I am glad you had better luck with quilting with Minky than I did. I would stick with cotton because the Minky might be too bulky and stretchy for binding. Never tried it before.

I would not use minky for the binding. I've used the cotton for binding on my minky back quilts and it looks great! I think the minky would be too hard to work with.

Actually, if you haven't bound the quilt yet, I would suggest you buy the packaged satin binding and use it to bind the quilt. Babies love the satin edges!
