This stash thing...I never meant to build one. I have made probably 15 wallhangings and quilts over the past year. I buy thirds and halves alot of times when it calls for FQ's for fear I will make a mistake because the "good" quilt store is an hour and a half away. Between the leftovers and the "not quite right" fabric choices there must be 50 yards of material in the closet plus the five quilt kits I have scheduled myself to make this year. That doesnt count the full hamper of scraps.

I "clean" my sewing room between each quilt, re-organizing everything before I start the next project.

But the past four quilts had tight deadlines so I just threw all the fabric in the closet and closed the door. I decided I felt disorganized so I had to clean that closet and there's a good three bins of extra fabric in there.

I guess I have more sewing to do than I thought. Everyone may just get a scrappy lap quilt for Christmas this year!

It's funny how the fabric seems to breed and multiply. I have his happen all the time. While looking for fabric for the ugly scrap challenge I found a tub full of scraps or baby fabric. It has been here the whole time but the label said something different was suppose to be in there. Now the fabric is hiding from me.

Well dear, don't forget your quilting forum friends, we could all use a scrappy quilt or two. We may not have time to make our own with our other projects. lol Gerbie

I'm sure that you will figure out something to do with it all. Scrappy quilts are awesome and I bet everyone would just love to get one for Christmas.

When I decided to take up quilting I walked into the church thrift shop up the road and asked if they ever got any quilting fabric scraps.
She walked me into the back room and gave me at no cost over 10 garbage bags full of scraps! Some 2-3 yards some fat quarter size. Since then I swear that all those fabrics have multiplied!
Even after weeding out the polyesters somehow I still had those 10 bags crammed full! I am finally getting them all organized!
