After going through can after can of spray starch and/or sizing - an article in a magazine came back to mind.

You can make you own EASILY!!! Starch is still sold as liquid in large bottles - at the grocery stores in USA. Water it down to about 1/4 starch and 3/4 water- in a hand trigger spray bottle. You can either buy a small bottle at a iscoount place etc, over use an older WELL WASHED OUT spray bottle from prosucts like SHOUT, WINDEX etc. WASH THEM VERY WELL.

Amazing how much time, effort and money this one tip has saved me. Always handy, and easily to make refills.

What money saving easy tip works for you?

Just don't starch ahead of time as there are littler bugs that love to feed off of the starch. Do it as you begin the sewing for the day. Just my thought.:)

That's what I do, I buy Sta Flo at grocery store. First time, bought empty spray bottle too, now I mix my own. More economical and works great for me. You can mix it in whatever strength you need.

My starch recipe is:

1 cup sta-flo concentrated starch (big fat blue bottle)
1 cup water (baby or distilled)
1 cup of Febreeze Lavender scent liquid ( comes in the blue spray bottle)

mix and pour in a clean spray bottle..

or make your own from vodka and water. 3 oz cheap vodka to 24 oz water. add a tsp of scent if you like but I don't bother.
