Default Moda layer cakes: NOT 10" & NOT square!

Is anyone else having this problem???? I have a layer cake of Kansas Troubles. Most are measuring 9 7/8 x 9 1/2". I just found one at 9 3/8. Since I am using these to cut 5" squares, this is really significant! What a pain to have to square them all up - correct that to DOWN - to 9 1/2" Even if I were using these whole, they'd still have to be squared. What's up????? I'm going to take a couple of pictures and send them to Moda. These are too costly for this. I could handle it if they were at least square!

I would take them back to the fabric shop if possible. If not inform the store where you bought the fabric "squares" at also.

I'll be interested in what Moda's response is. Thanks for the heads up.

I will also be interested in what Moda has to say, these are expensive enough to begin with.

What a dissappointment! I would have expected that the premium paid for "precuts" is that they are what they are represted .. 10 inches no less no more! Especially from Moda! Do let us know how this works out.

I had this same experience a while back where I bought a Moda kit that had two layer cakes and it was a real pain sewing those squares together. So I feel your pain.

I've used quite a few of them and never had a problem, but haven't bought one recently (in the last yr or so ... trying to use my stash)

Good luck, I'm sure Moda will make it right for you !

I found a few Moda layer cakes that were wonky sizes. I emailed Moda about the bad cuts each time but never got a response. I have never had a Connecting Threads 10" square stack that was not exactly 10" square for lots less money.

Take it back to where you purchased it - make sure you have the sales receipt - if within a reasonable distance from where you live!

I would be a very unhappy customer with that!
