JoAnn's had their Simplicity patterns as a super price for President's Day sale and there had been talk here about the mug caddy pattern. I want to make one of those but it doesn't say if those go on traditional sized coffee mugs or if I need to locate a larger one. Also, all of the views look the same to me. Without my fiddling with the patterns, can anyone tell me more about those? Are some views more appropriate for sewing people and some for desks or what's the story on the different views that look so much alike?

I bought that pattern too, but haven't made it yet.

If it's the "mug bucket" pattern, it fits a standard coffee mug and is quite easy to make.

That's the one! Am wondering how well that piece stays put inside the cup. I've looked more at the pattern and am thinking it may be that the different views are only for changes in the embellishments (rick-rack, etc.) and not actual changes in construction???

I have two daughters who are teachers and think these might be cute for their desks, made up in the school colors.

I made one at Christmas for my daughter to put on her desk at work. It was much easier than I initially thought, and went together relatively quickly. I do think the major differences in the views are the embellishments.

My daughter says she locks it in her drawer every night because she has gotten so many complements on it that she's afraid it could 'disappear'.
