What is the usual size of mug rugs? I never heard of them before joining this site, and now want to make some.
Thanks for your help.

Measure out an area for your cup and a small snack plate that you will be using. That would be the size you need to make :D:D:D

There really isn't a set size for these, it is more of what fits your needs

They are like little mini place mats. I put a little pocket for a tea bag on mine.

A little while ago someone suggested using a coffee filter to piece scraps together on. I plan on making some for the ladies at work and including a coffee mug and flavored coffee for Christmas gifts.

7x10, 8x10, 9x11 - a third the size of a placemat, maybe? Big enough for a coffee cup and a couple of cookies. :)

I am going to attempt to make some as gifts for the ladies at work. Can someone tell me what they use in the middle of these? Batting or something else?
