Well, I've broken it! :( My husband was going to crank some material through for me since I hurt my finger and couldn't do it myself. I miscounted and put 8 layers instead of 4 and then draped the extra on top of the mat to get it out of the way and told him to crank. (Yes I know, REALLY bad idea) Several very bad sounds later, the mat and die are stuck in the machine and the handle has absolutely no tension in it. We can't get the mat to budge forwards or backwards. We're going to call Accuquilt in the morning and see if they have any ideas but I have a bad feeling about it.

So, word to the wise, don't try cranking through more layers than recommended!

Oh! Wow! Yah... ummm, don't do that. :)

I'm sure AccuQuilt will have some advice for you. Please let us know how it turns out.

AccuQuilt, and embroidery machine are high on my list for 2011. Thanks for the warning. Sorry you had to experience the "problem" but I appreciate your letting us know to make sure we are vigilant with following instructions to the letter. Good luck. Hopefully it can be fixed with minimal to no cost.

OH NO so sorry to hear that! But it MUST happen to other people and there may be like a safety latch or something for when this happens. I'll cross my fingers that it can be fixed!

No safety latch to prevent people putting in more layers than they should;> Hope you can get it fixed inexpensively.

I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail, it was backordered. The gal I ordered it from, who owns a quilt shop, said she had a group on Yahoo called TheAccuQuiltDivas and suggested I join. You might look there for some info too.

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

That is who I got mine from lalaland. She has great deals on dies and other quilting stuff on her group.
