I ordered some fabric, in solid black, to begin a quilt--a whopping 10 yards worth. I washed it, hung it to dry and began to cut it apart for various blocks. I struggled and struggeld to get my points to match. I have NEVER had this much trouble. At first, I blamed it on my thread, then my machine, then....I began to wonder...could it be the fabric??

So, I experimented and made all the other colors first, then this god-awful black fabric was added. As I ironed my seam, the fabric, shrunk before my eyes---almost 1/4 of an inch different.
Buyer Beware! They do sell some junk.

OMG! That is awful!
Yes, I am having a beef with Joanns right now as well.
I ordered a bunch of stuff on April 18th. Well, they were out of one item, e-mailed me to let me know. Told them cancel that and send the rest. After many e-mails and phone calls, they FINALLY shipped TODAY!!
P'd me off! It's not like I could really cancel the entire order because what I ordered I REALLY want/need and the price was right. Can't get it at a price like that anywhere else. I tried.
So, they send me back an e-mail and say they are taking 15% off my total order. Ok, that's nice and then give me a coupon for another 15% off my next order. I read the coupon and it EXPIRED Mar 30. UGH!

So, I don't think I'm going to order from Joanns for a while.

I read the topic and thought OH, NO! I'm sorry you guys have had trouble with JoAnns. I haven't ordered online from them. I hope you have better luck in the future.

I have never had a problem with them before. Just this time.
I know it takes a while for things to get to me, but come on. I ordered it April 18 and it doesn't ship til amost a month later? Then to give me a coupon that's expired? UGH!

Well I would definitely complain about the blk fabric and get my money back or new fabric. Maybe the coupon was an oversight, I'd let them know about it. Of course I don't mind letting people know if they have wronged me.
I really think we all should. OK, OK OFF MY SOAPBOX.!!!!!

Wow, I must be blind, I read your post but didn't even see about the expired coupon. That is a little ridiculous. I'd definitely let them know. You guys took the time to order from their site and customer service should come first and top quality...I'd definitely call them and let them have it.

I e-mailed them about the coupon. They said it will still work.
We shall see! Won't be for another 4 months before I order again.

At my Joanns right where the quilting fabrics are, there are solid colors. Are they cotton you ask cause they are on sale.......they are not quite 100%......only one that is the real thing is the kona. Yes when you put an iron to them they shrink. They wash and dry well just don't iron them. :?  :x

I am going to try and return the remainder of the fabric. I'm still waiting on their response.

I ordered the quilters shades from Hancock Fabrics. I have used it before and it was on clearance for $3/yard. I only have 6 blocks to reconstruct--I'm afraid if I don't, I'll run out of my other fabrics.

Keeping my fingers crossed,
Julie
