Since this is working so well for me, I thought I'd share a solution my husband came up with. I have a fairly large space in my quilting studio aka basement. We had an old kitchen table with metal legs. He put the table up on those risers frequently used for beds in dorm rooms so there's under bed storage. I have 2 stacked for each leg.
It is the perfect height for me and I don't have to lean and stoop over a short table.
Hope this idea is helpful to someone else ... it's been great for me!

I want to get an architect's table for cutting. It tilts, so that I am not straining my neck over to see thru the ruler. I think this would be wonderful.
Hope I can find an architect who is retiring and never wants to see his table again!

Hello,
Thank you for such a simple, great tip. I have been getting a fierce back ache from bending over my cutting table. The next time I go to Wal Mart I am going to get me a set for my table.
You know how the thread always makes a mess on bobbins when you fill several. Well my Husband gave me a great idea. If anyone suffers from alergys as we do and you use a nasal spray that has a safty piece on it to pull off. It fits a bobbin perfectly. Once a month times 2 I get 24 a year. Share with my sister.

hi,
I got my architects table at a used office furniture store for forty dollars. it is 9 feet long and the top tilts up and ha a torage area 5 inches deep under the top when you lift it up. It was the best find I ever made. The bonus was it was high enough without the risers.
