I was given this set of feet for my Brother PS straight stitch machine. The middle size one makes a perfect scant 1/4" seam. I doubt I would have bought them but since I have them I'd like to know if anyone uses them for piecing?

I just bought a new Brother 1500S and it came with a 1/4 foot. For me I have to scoot the fabric over a tad to get a perfect 1/4. If I line up on the 1/4 line on the throat I get a perfect seam, but it isn't lined up with the edge of the foot. If the food you show allows you to line up with the edge of the foot, I'd give it a try.

I have been using the foot like you have. It doesn't line up with the throat marking either and I like to use the mark to guide the fabric. This foot holds the edge of the fabric in place while you sew, it's pretty awesome but not worth buying all three just for that one. But after I use it for awhile it may be worth it's weight in gold. LOL.

A man I know bought a box filled with new in the package machine feet, all for Brother machines at an out of town auction. He gave me all that were for the PS series. He paid $25 for 60 feet! He only wanted the walking foot one so the box was cheaper then that one foot at the dealer's. Walking feet, FMQ, Overedge, 1/4" feet, binding feet, blind hem feet, pintuck, gathering, open toe, ankle zig zag, fringe foot, every kind Brother makes I guess. And we found out it was from the local Brother dealer's inventory that went bankrupt last year. Sold at auction out of town? I wonder why Brother didn't take the inventory back? Seems like a lot of loss if the feet were actually worth the prices marked on the package, some were $65 each. The cheapest price was $11.

Oh, he will be putting the feet on Ebay for $5 each to sell as buy it now. I don't know when but when I see them listed I'll post.

I have been using the foot and I love it. Why isn't this foot known about? It seems to grab the fabric edges and hold them while you sew. I am getting perfect scant 1/4" seams. The feet are only for Brother PS series but I'm sure they aren't the only spring action guide feet made. If you have the chance to try one out, you'll love it. I called my friend and he has several more packages of these feet if you have a Brother PS pm me and I'll get the feet for you.
