Congratulations! I think Maggie is a great name for your Featherweight. I have a 1952 model that my daughter gave me as a backup machine. I love that Featherweight! I find that I do all of my piecing on it now. I know you will enjoy your Featherweight and you will think of your mother each time you use Maggie. Again, congratulations!

I am older 1945 and already had my birthday, last Sunday. Some days I feel old, some days I don't.
Enjoy your 1947 machine.

How lucky you are to be born in 1947! So was I? I recently retired and treated myself to a FW from 1947. She sews wonderfully. I have had her long enough to piece a quilt top and look forward to lots of time and opportunity to enjoy her.

I'm a 1947 model too. Worst thing about it, is that I'd like to claim to be old, but my current MIL is 96 this year, my ex-MIL will be 99 in August. My oldest cousin will be 96 in December. And the two 96ers are still living on their own. Makes me feel like a kid when I realize I'm 30 years younger than they are.

I am as old as I feel today it is 35. 1948 was a better year. I have a featherweight which I enjoy using for paper piecing it is fantastic.
