Well, I bought another machine on an auction, and luckily I got it for $27 plus shipping. So, now I have to stop, because my DH will probably not like that I bought this one....oh well, too late!! Besides, I don't get my hair or nails done, and I don't go shoe or purse shopping every week or even every month. I don't feel guilty!!! :-) Isn't she cute? It's a 3/4 machine.

I just got a 99 too, but already have the Singer Spartan, which is the same machine but without the decals and light. I love it for quilting, it is so simple and easy to use, and maintain. Heavier than a Featherweight, but takes up about the same storage space. And truly an affordable price compared to a featherweight. I found an inexpensive wheeled carrier for when I take it to quilting events.

No name yet. My 301 is named Ida after my grandmother. I would name her after my other grandmother, but she didn't sew, and my daughter is named for her. My daughter might not think it's too funny to have a sewing machine with her name! LOL

Maybe I'll name her after my mom, Grace, who after all did teach me to sew when I was a small child. I remember sewing doll clothes with her while she sewed clothes for us kids. I don't remember what kind of machine we had. I'll have to ask her.

I am excited to get this 99.

I saw a Spartan on another auction and thought about bidding on it. I like the look of that one, too!
