This was her Christmas gift in 2004. It was my 2nd quilt and after 6 years it needed some mending.

What a laugh we got out of reviewing the stitching on it---I couldn't stitch a straight line to save my life. Thank goodness I have improved some since then.

The love that went into the making of this quilt is worth more than any straight stitching. Nice quilt.

It's always good to look back at past work and see how much we have grown and improved. That being said in 2011 it is still a very beautiful quilt. I'd much rather see a quilt ware out rather than rot out:)

It's beautiful. My DH teases me about the quilt he says "started it all". (The very first quilt I made years before we even met.

The colors you used really make the rail fence pattern POP. And, good for you, for improving over the years. Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in one place.

Its the thought that counts and it seems she thinks very highly of it. I tell my friends if you want perfect, it won't be from me and they all say the same. "who cares for perfect when I have a friend like you." Warms the heart.
