Default My version of fun/done qayg

I have a baby boy shower coming up and the dad is an avid hunter/fisher/camper etc. I had this cute camping material in my stash. I love snowball quilts and decided to make a baby quilt. I thought I'd give the fun and done way a try but don't have the templates. I used my Accuquilt 8 1/2 inch square to cut the backing material and the 6 1/2 square to cut the front material and batting. I used the 2 1/2 inch triangles for the corners and this is what I have so far. I'm loving it. So fast! This is just a practice piece to decide how I wanted to quilt the block. Haven't made up my mind on that yet. Will work on doing the "real" quilt tomorrow on my day off.

What do you all think of my fun/done version?

Hugs!
Debbie

Looks like a perfect quilt for that baby boy. Cute! I like your stitching on the QAYG.

I saw a demo of that technique at a quilt show. They were selling a ruler for that. But the did strips and panels for top square. Like that you did the snowballs and used the decorative stitch to stitch down the sides. Looks a lot better than the demo one.

It looks great! Can't wait to try it for myself -- never seen the snowball block as a QAYG before -- very clever.

Oh how I want an accuquilt! Less time measuring and cutting? Yes please! Your project looks like it will be adorable, can't wait to see finished pics.
