Would anyone recognize this pattern? The quilter machine pieced the 9-patch and then hand sewed the melon piece into them. She did a nice job. Would really like to find the name. Thanks, I know someone can help me. Bobbie

I think it is the Glorified 9 patch. Google Glorified 9 patch and you will get several variations. Like you said, she added melons between them. Some make a block with 1/2 melons.

Pics I have seen have been captioned as glorified 9-patch. The work IS beautiful!

It is Glorified Nine Patch.
i made this block in early ninties. found in quilt mag from late 70's. they called it "New & Improved 9-Patch" fun, easy to make scrappy block
