i always name mine--the name comes about by any number of ways-influences...sometimes it has to do with the pattern involved-sometimes it is chosen because of the recipient, or occassion...sometimes a color or theme may influence it---it's like naming your new puppy/kitty---the name that identifies the quilt is it's name
my blue bargello with the appliqued sealife is called 'Ashley's Ocean' because Ashley asked for a new quilt (and i really like blue & dolphins, grandma)

I do this too! I have a blue log cabin plus quilt I did all in blue and white called "Wrapsody in Blue."
