Default Naming your sewing machine

Just checking to see if you're as zany as I am. I name everything I spend a lot of time with. Each car has a name as do the motorcycles. My current sewing machine is "Sir Chugs-a Lot". Bought it on e-bay last spring for maybe $50. It's a Baby Lock Quilt and Craft. No idea of how old it is. Definitely no bells and whistles but sews one heck of a good seam even if it is loud and slow and definitely old school.

Sewing machine is "Suzy Q", Longarm is "Abby", computer system with longarm is "Saddie", seam ripper is "Jack", car is "Sophie".

You are not alone in naming your machines, cars, etc.

I've never named my machines but I do refer to 'em as females, as in"...how does she sew?" I like all of my machines!

I've called my sewing machine a lot of different names but none of them that I can repeat on here! I mostly hand piece and hand quilt for a reason...)

I have 2 Bernina's, 3 featherweights, 2 Janome's and a serger and that is what they are called, sewing machines.

If it will never come when called, it gets no name at my house.

Hey, if a guy in midlife crisis can name his new boat, we can name our sewing machines!

I think that it's neat that some of us name our machines & some don't. That's what makes this board so great.

My Brother Quattro is Princess Leah, my Pfaff is Ellie, my Innova longarm is Rogue and my car is Breeze, named after my great, late Labrador Retriever.
