Already asked, but I will ask again, do you really need a border?

I agree with the folks who say you may not need a border at all. If you just want a stop or a frame, simply use a wider brightly colored binding.

For my mom's floral quilt, I did a 1.5" green border and then a 4 or 5 inch blue border because it's her favorite color. The blue also complimented all the floral fabric in the quilt. If I were do remake that quilt, I probably would have done just the 1 border, in the green, but at 3 or 3.5 inches. She loved the quilt so all is good.
I meant to behave......but there were too many other options

Couldn't you just do a wider binding that could work as border & binding in 1? Ellen 1, very nice quilt. I like your border/binding.

I've done a border that finished at only 1/2"! I had a quilt that I wanted to be borderless, but I didn't want my binding to hide any bit of the blocks, so I put on a teeny tiny border sized just right to be "eaten" by my binding.

I'd say lay it out with differing amounts of fabric showing around the edges and take pictures. Somehow it's easier for me to "see" things like that in photos. Compare and decide what looks best to you!
