could someone tell me what is felting i know i live in the boonies but i didnt know it was that far in but i didnt know what it is . is there anyone that could explain it to me thanks dorothy from tenn

you take pieces of wool fabric or (more often) things knitted in wool, wash them and throw them in the dryer. they shrink and feel like felt. then, using a technique similar to needlepunch embroidery, you apply loose fibres to embellish them with patterns and color. use the pieces in a variety of craft projects.

it doesn't look difficult. if you google "felting" you'll find links to instructions and supplies. this one looks promising

This has always been on my to-do list. I bought a grab bag of quilt stuff the other day, and there was a felted needlecase in it. It was one I had wanted to make, and I love it. :mrgreen:
