Default Need advice on Embroidery Machine Brother PE-150

I bought a used embroidery machine - my first, and am starting to find my way around. It's a Brother PE-150, and I'm feeling limited with the designs that came on the machine. I understand there is a Download Box available for it, that you can just download items from the internet and then copy to a disk, insert it and you can start embroidering all kinds of designs. What I'm wondering is if there is anything else I'll need. If anyone has one of these machines, are you happy with it and have you run into any issues downloading designs?

You will need the PED basic ( the box you are talking about) - the only designs you can download from the internet have to be in PES format and 100 x100 in size- I believe that machine has only the small hoop . I have the Brother SE270S and it is great for starting - simple to use and fun But don't be surprised when you want a bigger hoop LOL

I had a PE150 and LOVED it!!! Make sure that when you get the blank card it's the one formatted for your machine. I sold the one I had and got a machine with a larger frame, but boy, do I miss the lettering on the 150. You could easily put a name or initials on anything.

I have to use the Ped basic with my embrodiery machine and I really like it. When I bought my Pedbasic it came with the disk and yes all of your designs have to be in pes form, but there are lots of them out there. There is also two free sights that will reduce the other designs, I just haven't learned to use them yet. I do wish my area was bigger than 4 x 4, but would not trade my machine in for a different one. Hope this helps
