I have been asked to make a quilt using bluejeans and 2 other flannel like materials. I just can't think of a pattern that would look good. Any suggestions?

Something easy, heavier fabrics need larger pieces. Quilters cache might be a good place to look.

Make sure you use the correct needle. Those suckers are thick! I made a blue jean and red bandana fabric picnic quilt. I used the pockets on the corners for the fork/napkin holder! It came out cute. I use half square triangles that were 12 inch blocks because the blue jean fabric is sooooo thick. You really don't want to sew on it a lot. Have fun.

You might make a rag quilt. I think denim and flannel work really well for this project. "Yellow Brick Road" pattern looks great with denim or you might try cathedral windows.

If you can off set the corners so that you don't have 4 pieces of jeans fabric coming together at once it will work out better. Jeans quilts should be very simple like 5 or 6" squares then start the next row with 1/2 a square to do the offsetting. Or do sizable rectangles. Jean quilts also look great if they're tied. Make sure you use at least a size 90/14 or 100/16 needle and good long fiber thread.

I made a rag quilt, and cut and frayed the edges. try to keep to all cotton, the stretchy stuff doesn't work as well
good luck

I have done a lot of jean quilts and I like to use the 6.5 inch square templete. I place it on the jean and draw around it and then cut them out. I will try and make a pattern in the quilt using the dark and light jeans. I have also mixed and matched cotton squares in with it so its not so heavy. I also don't use any batting and my backing is fleece. I cut the fleece bigger so I can fold it over the top of the quilt creating the binding.
