Default Need help with a quilting decision

I have finally almost finished my garden trellis quilt. I had to do a simple X design on the center with a serpentine stitch , I wanted to do something prettier but couldn't manage . Anyway I stitched around the outside of the applique on the border. I know it needs more quilting but am stumped as to what to do. I thought about echo but that would put more quilting on the border than on the middle and I didn't think wide echo would look all that well. I also thought about straight lines or cross hatching.. So any other suggestions or what do you think about the cross hatching or straight lines.

It looks really pretty! If you want more quilting in the border per batting specifications, you could add some tendrils coming off the vine where needed after you outline stitch the border appliqué design.

Personally I can't see that it needs more quilting. If the rule of thumb is every 4" or the size of a fist...it looks like you have done that....or is this bigger that it appears in the picture? I really like this...can you post a full picture too. What pattern is it?

The border needs more quilting for sure. The pattern I think is called Garden Trellis.. sorry its been awhile. lol The border is my own design. Did a search here on the board and found the one that started me.
Woody from here on the board posted one and I fell in love with it.

The quilt is for a full size bed and at the moment I don't have anywhere to put it to take a full picture. I will when I am done.

I agree with Tartan and would do some tendrils that mimic your applique design. Lovely quilt, pretty floral fabric and like your border design.

Well tried the tendrils and then spent an hour ripping them out they were awful. Just not good enough with FM yet. So went for a meader .. All I can say is its a good thing the thread matches the background perfectly. Can't see the toe catcher stitches. After this NO more big quilts. If I need another full size quilt it will be a quilt as you go.. And the UFO tops I made long long ago are going to find a LMQ somewhere some how. LOL It Should be done by the beginning of next week.

It's lovely - what I would have done is just outline the vines and leaves. Your color choices are really beautiful.
