Default Need a Boys Quilt pattern - something VERY unusual...but cute

I will be working on my next grandsons quilt soon and I am finding it a little challenging to come up with something fun and different. I don't want a patchwork (just blocks) or something that is landscape or a persons portrait - can't think of the name of these...

So please post some pictures or links of something I might want. Thanks!

How old is he? I absolutely LOVE the different stars I've seen posted. I think my favorite was called Lonestar? And the Mariner compass? So beautiful.

I am in the process of trying to design a quilt for my youngest DGS. I am thinking about a games theme, maybe chutes and ladders, with his name across the top or bottom.

Maybe a trip to the library would help. I know my library has a lot of quilt books, several of which are just kids' quilts.

This will be for a newborn, but my daughter thinks she might one for a twin bed. This is her 4th and will be her second boy...so I think she is going past the baby stage and thinking more future. The one I made the other gs was an applique with bear and toys.

Here is one I did a few years ago. I just found a good story book to create the applique, then quilted with tool shapes.
