Default Need help choosing pattern

I need your suggestion for a pattern for this fabric. The butterflys and the purple & blue solids have to be in the quilt...the yellow and orange are optional. Its for my daughter's best friend and she loves butterflies and purple, blue, etc. I have played around with EQ and nothing clicks...I have been all over the QB and the usuall web sources. I am stumped on how to showcase the butterfly fabric. Backing and binding will be Kona black...so please help me my friends! I know you all will come up with some great idea! Thanks!

How about a finished 6" block of the butterfly with a 4 patch block out of the blue and purple. This would showcase the butterfly then make a diagonal pattern of the two colors. Probably not painting a good word picture but you could scan the fabrics into EQ7 and make a mock-up of the pattern using a 4 patch block and a plain block. I have used this type of pattern for showcasing embroidery designs on plain block.

Maybe a fussy cut snowball out of the butterfly fabric and 9patch using the solids.

I'm thinking the shadow quilt would be cool! Not only showcasing the fabric in about 4x10 inch pieces, but the illusion of a shadow with the purple. It's usually done with a lot of different fabrics, but would be stricking with just using the butterflies. If you are interested, I could send you a picture of it. PM me if you'd like the picture.

Lucky stars. you could use the butterflies for the center squares or all over like the other fabrics. If you want more of a challenge, use the make dresden plates and use the butterflies for background, or a NY Beauty and have all kinds of fun with placement.

My idea depends on the size of the butterflies - if they are larger than about 2.5 inches it wouldn't work. What about making an asymetric log cabin pattern, with the dark strips all butterfly fabric, so you would get a butterfly-rich dark diagonal with (sort-of) curvy edges surrounding diagonals of the colors? Or curvy square (!) rings...Since I am sure my description is not very clear, here are some exampleas of what I mean:

Granola Girl has a pattern called Fisherman's Catch. It really showcases the 'fish' fabric that was used and it goes together nicely. I think the butterfly fabric would be really pretty with it. I believe it's an enlongated version of the churn dash pattern.

The butterflys are too big for the log cabin patterns...I like the quilt picture and the snowball idea! I love to PP, but not on this quilt...I have a deadline and I think PPing would cut the butterflies in really small pieces. I think I want to use all 4 fabrics in a sorta rainbow look! I am not sure how to explain what I would like to see overall! The quilt above this post would work...I think! I will play around with EQ again tonight!

Thank you all so much...keep 'em coming!

Warm Wishes would be a great pattern for this fabric and it is fast and easy. It would really showcase the butterflies.
