Default Need help!! crossword puzzle quilt

I am making a crossword puzzle quilt and have purchased the stencil to make the letters, but need to know what to "color" them in with that will be permanent. Specific brands of items would be appreciated. You are all so quilting savvy! Thanks

I wish I could help you, but to be honest, I would have applique'd the letters....just another thought if you can't find what you are looking for. Post pics. I bet it will be cute.

Derwent Inktense pencils are wonderful for fabric "coloring". Utube as many tutorials and demos.

Embroidery by hand is another option.

I would do applique. You could outline/embroider the letters.

Paper Piecing is another possibility.

Also, Moda has the full alphabet as pieced blocks.

They are, although I haven't found a textile medium that makes a very saturated color so it may look like the crossword was done in pencil. Odyssey, if you do go with the Inktense pencils, I'd suggest also buying the outline pencil to make sure the ink doesn't run outside of where you want it.
