My sister has been crocheting blankets for many years. She has recently also starting making quilts for Project Linus. They received three blocks and have asked her to try to do something with them.

One of them has been hand quilted through batting and backing. Two of them have been quilted through batting but they have no backing. They are very nicely done and she does not want to remove the quilting. Any ideas on what she can do with them so Project Linus can use them?

We would appreciate any and all ideas, this is my first time posting with photos so if it does not work I will try again in a while.

Front of blocks are all the same

The ones without backing I would add a backing and just sew on with a straight stitch around the side, so you don't lose the quilting on the front Then make more of the QAYG blocks and connect with sashing ?

...and I agree too! Look thru a search for "quilt as you go" (QAYG) to get some ideas. Sure are pretty blocks!!!

Just a thought. I have been with Project Linus over 6 yrs. We get these blocks all the time and they are beautiful. What I have done is add fabric to sides of block and then to top and bottom until you get the size you like for the quilt. Then lay this top on batting and back and continue to put it together to make a quilt. This gives the center a little puff to it but they are darling. Hope this helps. A little easier than a quilt as you go.

What beautiful blocks. I can't wait to see what you decide to do with them.

Thank you for your ideas. Yes they are pretty blocks and I am sure she will be able to use this information. This is a great group and I appreciate all of you for sharing.
