Need help from my fellow quilters.

I am almost finished with this top. It's from Eleanor Burns - called Gadabout. I want to make it queen sized. I have run out of 2 of the fabrics to add more rows of the pattern so I have to go with wider borders. Do you think this brown and red border will work ok with the rest of the quilt?

The brown picks up the brown in your blocks. I think it works!

Honestly not so much..the fish fabric is my reasoning. Quilt is so very nice, it would be a shame to add that border IMHO

sorry, but i have to agree. it might work for a narrow border, but i'd find something else for a wide, final border

What does it look like if you switch the grey/silver next to the red, then the brown? The two darker or richer tones together as you have it now, then the lighter tone doesn't work to my eye. I get that you need the wider two borders, just wanted to see if that looked better. I really like the quilt. You did such a great job on it.

Ignore my post. I realize my mistake. Sorry for that. However, I do like your quilt top.

I have the same feeling; I think the brown takes away from the beautiful quilt.

The center feels bright and cherry but the brown doesn't reflect that. It should go since there is brown in the center but I am not loving it, sorry.

I think the brown border on the outside looks great. The red and brown tie in nicely with the colors in your quilt. Really nice quilt!
