    I like the idea of the 2-4-6 inch borders. I have to go get more fabric because all I have is 2inch strips left. Thank you everyone for your help. DebbieS

    I like Gay's idea; it lends itself to the look of the log cabin block.

    You could applique stars or such in the border to soften up the solid blue
