Well, fellow quilt buddies, we arrived in Dillard, Ga after a very safe and uneventful (well, one 30 minute traffic delay)7 1/2 hour drive...We were sooooo excited to reach our destination....We've checked in and I'm posting a few pics, one is the scene of the landscape out our sliding glass door, another is a pic of a gorgeous flower (hydrangea) that is around the pool and finally, what we were served at dinner..Whatever is on the menu is what you get...Bread, 3 meats, lots of veggies, fresh tomatoes, drink of choice, and of course, dessert....ALOT of food, but none goes to waste....They have a petting zoo, with several of the critters loving southern cooking as much as I do....:) Hence, the name Porky Pig....Oinks were coming from the restaurant and the barn I think...:)

Several asked about the info on this retreat....Deb's Cats N Quilts, Franklin, NC, sponsors this retreat every year......Her shop is about 30 minutes, I think, from Dillard, GA......I found out about it through friends that came last year....

Thanks for the info on the Jacksonville retreat...My son lives there and will definitely look at trying to make this in February....

    More pics to come........

    Sandi

Wow, have fun for all of us that are "retreating" vicariously through you! My trips always involve leading and chaperoning teens on school trips, don't see a quilt retreat in my future so sew and eat for me too!

That looks like so much fun! Maybe next year we can take a vanful of us from Florida. That's too far for me to go by myself (I'm nearly five hours south of you).Deb's shop looks lovely. Will you get up there before you come home?

I have never been on a retreat, but I would really like to go. The most I know of the retreats is from the Elm Creek Series I have been reading. Now on #11. If they are anyting like Elm Creek Manor, I know I would love it. If anyone knows of any they would recommend, please let me know.
