I am getting a new DIL this year and would like to surprise the newlyweds with a quilt. Her favorite color is green and lots of it, but not a lime-color green. I was thinking of something with several shades of green with some purple worked in. Any suggestions for a pattern would be appreciated.

I have recently fallen in love with triple Irish chain, and it would certainly look wonderful with shades of green and a purple chain running through!!

Here are the colors I'm using in my wedding ring quilt for my future DIL. She loves greens and these colors lean toward the blue side of green (teal?)

I would second the double wedding ring pattern.. I think with the fabrics you have with a little purple would be beautiful..

I'm have a bargello phase. Not that I make them, but I envision them. Think several shades of greens and purples (although in my head it's pink). Look at Eddie's PDA. He is doing a great bargello in blue and green. It looked pretty easy. Of course, Eddie makes everything look easy.

I love Jacob's Ladder. You could add a cream neutral.

You didn't mention whether you're a beginner or ???? This is the quilt I did for my DD's wedding, maybe something along this line?

How about just a simple quilt made up of a bunch of half square triangles in different greens (as one half of the HST) and white or ecru as he other half? You could border it or not. Some I have seen are really beautiful just in the simplicity of the pattern.

I vote for storm at sea. You can say if there is a storm on their bed the calm will be in the marriage.
