I've made several simple quilts and backed them with flannel. The Mothers say they like them for tummy time because they do not scrunch up on the floor like cotton backed quilts.
Welcome to the Quilting Board!

I made Naptime from Quiltmaker. It was easy, fun, fast.

doowop, I love your circle quilt. Colors are bright and cheery and your FMQ beautiful
attitude is everything...the rest will fall into place.
I love the disappearing 9 patch , crazy quilt patterns. Without the foo foo and also squares of colorful fabric
I made this quilt in a weekend. Began with a large square 101/2" one square plain and other children's fabric. Then I drew lines across to make 8 triangles by sewing each side of the diagonals. Cut on diagonal then cut an + to make the eight , open and you have 8 pin wheels.just joined as many as I had fabric for then sandwiched and quilted each side of lines. Bound and finished.
sorry didn't take a picture it was just pinwheels no border as it was big enough
Finished is better than a UFO
I'm going to make this one for my niece. I hope to finish it in order to ship for her 3rd birthday on Jan 30th.I'm going to make hers with grey and white foxes on a violet pastel background. I started with pinwheels, but got extremely frustrated. Dotty, do you think you might be able to post some pix and step by step instructions on your method? That sounds very easy!

Super easy would be to sew together 6" or so strips of a baby fabric alternating with a coordinating fabric from your stash.
Another quick quilt would be a solid color with appliqued animals of different fabrics - teddy bears, cats, bunnys or even stars and quarter moons. I like to do the applique where you sew the shape together with iron on interfacing (right side of fabric to sticky side of interfacing), trim, snip the center of the interfacing and turn, iron on and sew down. Or you can do raw edge applique.

Checker board is my favorite fast baby quilt. next would be to use a panel and border it, or to make a fence rail. All three go very fast.
Have fun making the quilts.
A quilt is like a good life. It's full of mistakes, but, in the end, it looks pretty good.
(1) Falling Charms (a 3 piece block, you could use "I Spy" fabrics) (2) 40 Minute Quilt Top (using 2 1/2" strips)
(3) Panel print for center, with 2 or 3 coordinating borders. Good luck!
love that fox pattern, soooo cute!
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.
