I want to make a quilt with a square of floral fabric 'on ppoint in the center and build out from there with varying sized strips. I thought someone might have an idea where I can find a pattern like this.

Decide how big you want your center square, and then add whatever size strips you want to each side. Take the finished size of that square, and then go to this site to figure out the size to cut for your corner triangles:

the log cabin can be any sized center and any sized logs as long as the log is the same width on all 4 sides?. Then when I have enough of the log cabin built to lay on the top of my bed I would just add triangles or smaller log cabins in the corners. Would that work?

LOVE the fabrics.... I think everyone else has answered the question about how to procede so I won't repeat that. But I hope you will post a picture when it's done.

Just went to this site - THANK YOU for sending it to us. It's wonderful. I have been calculating this stuff for years using the "magic number" and working from there. This makes it sooooooo easy.
