Does anyone know of a place that sharpens rotary blades? They are so expensive that I hate to throw them away. Even with Hancock's or JoAnn's discount coupons the blades are $3.00-5.00 each. We all know where to sharpen scissors, but what about the rotary cutting blades?

One of our LQS's sharpens blades. If none of yours do, they might know who does in your area.

I bought a "blade gadget" at Joanns to sharpen mine. Works fine and it is by the blades! I used my 50 off coupon.

As a new member to the board Quilt-fanatic you might have missed the threads about Harbor freight blades. They have carpet cutter blades that fit in our 45" rotary cutters for $1.99 for two blades. I have purchased several from the Norman store. Let me know if you have trouble finding them, I have a few I can spare. Kathy

Don't forget about the 2/1.99 blades at Harbor freight tools! Those make sharpening old blades a real waste of time (and $$$!) :P

I was going to suggest the same thing - I have one of these gadgets and it works just fine. In fact, I need to use it again.....

I too have a sharpener that I purchased in Joann shop.
I have also purchased some blades from Harbor Freight, 2 for 1.69, but, since they caught on to all of us buying them up,they raised the price to 1.99.
Much better then paying 20-25 for 5 blades from Joanne's or Walmart
