I got some embroidery quilt blocks (flower garden), but all have stains where the marking bleed. Can anyone tell me how to remove the bleed without destroying the block. These have not been embroidered. all help appreciated.

Is it the printed pattern marks that bled? If it is, I would use a light box to trace the pattern from one block onto paper. I would then wash the block per instructions that came with them to see if all the colour comes out. If all the bleed comes out, I would dry and iron the block. I would then use a wash away fine marker to re-trace the pattern from the paper back onto the block. A lot of work but do-able. I would rather find out now if I could get out the markings rather then after all my nice embroidery is done.
