I pick bargello quilts for the male college grads. It modern , no girly implications. I use batiks for male grads as well, again no girly implications. They really are not hard it's just sewing strip sets together.
This is one I made for my nephew.

Many years ago a friend used this pattern to make a quilt for her son who also had graduated from law school....so appropriate! How exciting for your son!
This is called Barrister's Block or Lawyer's Puzzle.

I think someone posted a Court House Steps quilt on here that she had made for her son who was graduating frrom law school. I think that is a great idea. I'm not good at doing searches on here, but hopefully you might be able to find it. Congratulations to your son and to you. You must be so proud of him.

When my son graduated from law school I gave him a quilt made of court house steps blocks ...it's a variation of log cabin. I did an applique of the justice scales for the center block. And he loved it!!
My son is graduating from Law School in May and I need help choosing a pattern for a quilt. Any suggestions? I am not a fast quilter and really want to have it done for graduation so I would need to complete it by the end of April. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
