Pretty blocks! I have an affection for scrappy looks :)

I'm sure you could ask twenty quilters and get twenty different answers! Someone earlier mentioned the "ooooH" factor - and I know you'll find just that right "oooH" fabric to bring out all the pretty colors!

Please post a picture of the finished quilt - I'd love to see it.

neither, not enough pop, (or contrast)
for an idea and see if you might like black, take a piece of black clothing and lay out a couple of the blocks.

The orange under the dresden plate or the red in the churndash blocks would be my choices but if you don't have any of those left--black is always a good plan B.

I think you need to decide also if you want the fabric to blend with the blocks or make the blocks POP.
if blend then maybe the beige/tan print
but if you want pop then go with red or black

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will look at the black. It was actually my first choice. I thought since there was already black in the blocks that it would not work. But now I am re-thinking that idea.

Okay, I was thinking about the black and then remembered that I had a red with micro dots just sitting around. What do you think about this?

I think the other red you have doesn't work with that.
You could do a black that isn't such a deep black. I'm not sure if I'm getting that part across right.

you have to remember that I am doing the quilt as you go method. So what ever is on the back will be the sashing as well.

okay here is the black. I think that some of the blocks get lost in this color choice.

the dresden background is actually a red and not orange. The colors do not show well in these pics.
