My cousin ask me to make a Grandmothers quilt to give her mother (my aunt as a gift) She wants all the grandchildrens names and birthdates embroidered on it. Any idea you have would be greatly appreciated.

Have the blocks the center square, such as a Lucky Star, which is Terri Atkinson's pattern. It is a floating star.
Or a snow ball block.
There are so many signature block patterns you could use.
I have seen the star pattern for a wedding gift, it was beautiful.

What are her interests? How many grandchildren are there? do you applique?

I was thinking different flower blocks with names/date embroidered in them. Or a big center panel of a bouquet of flowers with names in borders or different basket blocks.

Of course the traditional Grandmother's Flower Garden or Grandmother's Fan would be beautiful if you have the time to complete.

I was just looking at the traditional grandmothers Flower Garden Pattern. I was thinking about using a small version of that pieced as a border with a Grandmother's poem of some sort in the center and use the SunBonnet Sam/Sues around that with the names and dates under each. I tend to get a little carried away, so I guess it depends on when she needs it, don't know that yet either. I love to applique!

I'm not real good at ideas, but I think the G. fan would and could work nice. You could enlarge the fans to a good size, and each blade could have a name of GC. Or, each fan could apply to just one person with birth date, favorite colors, flower, sport, nickname etc. there is also a fan quilt that is pretty that is all one piece if you didnt want to get into a lot of cutting and stitching.
