Default Need ideas for toile fabric quilt

I found the prettiest blue & white toile cotton fabric at Hancock's and would love to make a quilt for a full size bed. The repeat is about 18" X 24" and I have 4 yards of it and 1/2 yard lengths of small patterned blues. So far, I have thought of using HST surrounding four panels and then some medium narrow sashing, maybe a solid dark blue.. Would really appreciate other ideas, especially for outer borders. Or... should I just use it as a backing?

It could be lovely in an Irish Chain with the blocks large enough to allow the print to show and the blues for your chains.

I agree ... it would be nice as a backing too.

I just finished a quilt using toile. I used a pattern called Madeline. Its a star pattern, and the smaller images of the toile were fussy cut and in the middle of the stars. It was also used elsewhere in the quilt. I made pillow shams and cases too. I love toile's. Mine was red and white.

Do you like to embroider? I thought this one was pretty.

Or, since you mentioned HSTs, how about something like this?

Lots more toile eye-candy on Pinterest, you could do a search and spend a couple of hours, drooling.

I saw a Lady of the Lake recently, the large triangles were toile w/ the smaller ones a ToT blue. I liked it so much that I've started looking for toile - because heaven knows I need another project!

If you search here on the forum for "toile" there are also a few pictures using it that might give you another idea. One is embroidered with a toile border.
