Need ideas? What to do with cross stitch?

I recently found(at Goodwill) a tablecloth, placemats and napkins cross stitched flowers on all.
What can I do with them? At $ .30 per pound I could not leave them there. Most of the stains came out.
Someone spent days, months, if not longer working on them and no one to care.

Cindy makes quilts using only antique linens with great embroidery and sometimes even leaving the stains on.

I researched removing stains for a friend with an antique shop. I started with simple washing in warm water my regular laundy soap (what ever is on sale). Lots of times that does a pretty good job. I may add washing soda, it is safe for front loaders as it does not suds.
I spot treat next with a paste of Biz and water and let till dry. Throw in with a normal wash. If stains are left I dislove biz in warm water let item soak over night. Toss in with normal laundry and add all fabric bleach.
If there are stains that bother me I will spot treat with a Q-tip dipped in diluted bleach. Just be sure to rinse as soon as the stain is gone. Bleach can be harsh on fabric.
Hydrogen peroxide is usually safe and a good bet if the stain could be blood.
Often times I am happy with a general clean up and ignore the stain. I have a round embroidered tablecloth that will always be stained but I love it any way.
