I'm almost done with a quilt for my boyfriend's son who is a Marine just back from his second tour in Afganistan. I've never met him just talked on the phone. I could really use suggestions for wording the label. "Our Hero" just seems too corny. Maybe an appropriate bible verse? Any and all suggestions would be a great source of inspiration!
Thank you all!

How about just "Thank you" and the son's name?

A Marine?? Semper Fi is a possibility as is USMC. If you want to personalize it, just thank him.

SEMPER FI
USMC
Thanks, ????
From Dad and ???? These were centered, but the computer didn't like it. I like welcome home, too. Maybe in place of the thanks.

Hi Janet,

Our Hero, We Love!
Thank you!

USMC, Semper Fi !! Hoo-rah !!!

The Few. The Proud. The Marines.

Once a Marine, Always a Marine!

Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful

More than a motto, a way of life.

Ask about any important dates to include.
Maybe include his rank at the time of finishing the quilt,
with the date.

Ask about any colors, mottos, etc. of his unit.
Any special phrases he lives by.

The Marine Corp Oath

Symbols:
Eagle, Globe, Anchor
The Sword
The Flags, there has been more than one.

I would ask any one close to him for their input and see what answers you receive. Check out the website for the Marines.

Some of these additions could be included on the backing.

Good luck, we'd like to see pictures when you get finished.

I like "Thank you for your service." This something I try to say to each uniformed person I meet. I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
