    Default Need help

    figuring out how much I need for my backing on a 74x82 1/2 inch quilt. Thank you far all your help in advance. Its been a while and I have forgotten how to figure it out.

    You only need 2 yards and 1/4 yards if you get backing that is at least 90 inches wide. If you use regular width fabric (44 inches) you need 4 1/2 yards (make sure it is at least 43 inches wide NOT including selvages)

    If you're short on backing fabric, look at these links. I suspect that where your quilt is so wide, it may not help you but...for future reference then.

    Just add 3-4" to each side, top and bottom of your top and you should have enough.
