Ck. out 'freecycle' in your area. You can ck. the site for what you want or put an add in for what you want.... and it's all free. I've gotten some nice things and also given some items I no longer wanted. Craigs list is another good site.Good luck in your search.

I guess it's just according to how fancy you want to be. When I bought my first machine (a Featherweight) I had no place to put it except in my bedroom, and nothing to set it on. My husband picked up a small chrome dining table that had been used in their break room at work for $1. Nothing at all wrong with it except one leg was slightly different in color. We just put that leg back in the corner and it wasn't even noticable. I just used one of the chairs from our dinette set, moving it back and forth between the sewing table and dining table as needed. Just kept my sewing basket on the back corner of the table to store my supplies in. I used this table for 15 years or more before I could get a proper sewing table. Worked fine, cost only $1.

I actually saw this desk on WalMart's website for $119 - good to hear a positive real world review!
I also have that table and like it.

I won't have a ton of room, but I'd like to have a sturdy table and room to iron and have storage. What are my options? My budget is about $150-200. Am I dreaming?
I bought this sewing desk a couple weeks ago, and now I see the price has gone way down. I am kind of peeved about that, but hopefully it is your gain! I bought for $179 and now it is $128! It is beautiful and so functional, especially for the price.

I found a beautiful desk at an estate auction that I bought for $5.00. Then I also bought a wonderful craft table at a garage sale for $15.00. I use that to cut things out. It could also be used for my sewing maching. Good luck.
