I am doing a "guestbook" quilt from our wedding reception last year. I have 51 3 1/2" squares. I am looking for something unusual and haven't come across anything. If any of you have suggestions or pictures of unique blocks I would really appreciate them. When the quilt is finished I will give credit for the blocks on my label. I love the look of different blocks in a quilt so there may well be many of your names on the label and great thanks too! By the way the squares are ivory and my other colors were red and black if that helps anyone.

I did this wall hanging for my Mom with all my siblings and their spouses on it. She really liked the design. Don't know if it is what you are looking for. I also did one for our family reunion with aunts, uncles and their spouses.

Do you like any blocks that use a 3 1/2" (3" finished) square in them? If so, you could substitute the signature blocks for one or more of squares in the block. You could even do these as a sampler of sorts since you like quilts which have different blocks in them.

ETA: Really, you could look at any 9-patch or any 16-patch or any 4-patch block and easily adjust the pattern so that you're using a 3" grid.
