Default Need some quilting ideas for a Christmas panel

Have a customer quilt on the frame (sorry no picture) that is a Santa panel, bordered with some large Flying Geese and corners have hourglass blocks--so far no problem with that--but then about a 3" border of blue background with scattered little Santa's and some snow flakes. I'm drawing blanks for the outside border!
Any ideas? My customer likes pumpkin seeds so will use them in hourglass blocks, maybe a little feathering in the FG, doing some outlining and selective background filler in the center panel. This is all flannel, BTW. She's not big on heavy quilting and I'd like to get this off the frame pretty quickly--things are starting to pile up!

Simple Christmas tree shapes? Keeps the theme and could tie in with the flying geese shapes.

It is hard to suggestion quilting ideas without seeing even a reference to where this panel can be seen.
