Need Suggestions for Pattern to Show Off Fabric
#11
Use that red fabric in a square in a square, with a beige background. You need about 3/4 yard to make 12 blocks. (Your red pieces will be 9" squares, and the addition of beige can make the blocks 12".) Then make another 12" block to alternate with it.
In the quilt I am making, I also wanted to showcase the large scale floral fabric, so I just put white around it, and used what is called an "Indian Square" to alternate blocks with. Not difficult.
Your other colors can be golds, beiges, olive, dark brown.

I love it! I would use it with the folded hydrangea method shown on this site in a tutorial and call it geraniums instead. Add some lits and darks in the red and several shades of green for geranium leaves and it will glow! I just got done reading a book called fabulous folded fabric and there are some simple roses you can make in fabric and sew into regular blocks in a quilt! sharet
