Or maybe a Double Slice Layer Cake from Missouri Star?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxC-0T5lXw4

I used a layer cake on this one, the only one I could find a picture of , but I have made this pattern by just using six or seven fabrics and sort of making my own layer cake first. I have always been pleased with it.

Here is a great free pattern. I just made one with novelty fabrics - an I Spy type quilt

A disappearing 4 patch or disappearing 9 patch would be easy and quick.

When I wanted (needed) to take a break from a quilt that was taking a long time, I made pet blankets for the animal shelter. Just two 36 inch squares (one flannel, one muslin) sewn together. Gave me a break and it was beneficial to the shelter. I usually try to give them ten to fifteen at a time.
